I was browsing at Barnes & Noble (it could have been 2nd and Charles, I frequent both fairly often) and ran across the Zenned Out Guides on the bargain shelf. The volume on reading auras caught my eye. I’d played with the concept of seeing auras a few times many years ago. I think I had a copy of What Color Is Your Aura? and possibly one by Ted Andrews, but I never got far in the practice and eventually lost track of those books. I decided it was time to look into it again.
Just because this book was on the bargain book rack doesn’t mean it’s a slapped-together guide. It means I got a good deal on a great resource, even if the cover isn’t as colorful as the one pictured on this review. (Mine is dark blue).
The pictures are as colorful as the cover, the paper stock is thick and good quality, and while the information isn’t overwhelming, it covers pretty much everything you need to know to understand and see auras. Before the author will allow the reader to entertain the thought of jumping into the exercises (unless you skip pages, of course), she takes the time to educate you on what an aura is as well as the chakra system. Then she gets into the good stuff – how to intuit your aura. Each type of clair is covered along with how to work with the type of intuition that comes naturally for you. Not everyone can “see” the aura, often you pick up on them by other means.

Did it work? Heck yes! It was pretty amazing, in fact. I’m primarily claircognizant and clairvoyant, so the primary colors of my aura popped into my head, followed by an internal visualization. I did work through the exercise on physically seeing the aura and got enough of a result to continue working with it.
Once you get that down, the author talks about protecting and repairing your aura, as well as doing readings for others.
Hands down a great purchase. So much so that I hopped onto her website and bought her Zenned Out Guide to Understanding the Wheel of the Year and Sabbat meditations. Hopefully those will keep me on track since I’m hopeless at keeping up with the Sabbats.
If you’re remotely interested in reading auras, pick up this book. You’ll thank me after you work through it.
