One of the best things about running this blog are the requests I receive to review books. I’ve had access to so many wonderful books I might not have otherwise seen. This is one of those.
This is the author’s fourth book but while her other three books give the reader access to her spiritual wisdom and teachings, this one tells the story of both her first and second life. Or rather, of her “ordinary life,” (which in some respects was anything but,) and her awakened life.
The reader follows James through her early years where she dealt with several phenomena that probably would have traumatized most children but instead acted as a springboard to her future growth. I’m not talking about divorce or relocation, even though she did experience those; I’m referring to periods of blindness, deafness, unexplained empathic abilities, and even attempted possession. Frankly, I’m not sure if I could handle those as an adult, much less a child.

The book goes on through the author’s preparation for her spiritual awakening and the dramatic changes it wrought in her life. Really spectacular stuff.
My only criticism is that I wanted more. The book is relatively short and most of it focused on her early life. The real meat, in my eyes, was almost glossed over. I really, really wanted more details, especially about events I can’t even imagine, such as the angel classes. I want to know more about her traveling and healing methods, maybe how she specifically touched people through crystal bowl healing, or more about her life in Costa Rica. That part of her life felt rushed and because these aren’t experiences most people have (we certainly aren’t all Lightworkers), a deeper dive into these aspects and events would have been beneficial.
